Hello

 Hi, hello!

We have had the strangest winter. A bit warmer, a bit snowier, and rather darker than usual. And more sticky snow for building than we've seen in one winter in a long time.

There is a rawness in ordinary things, as I am constantly reminded of the passage of time. How is it that I'm knitting an adult sized sweater for E? And how long will it fit him?

I sewed an Addie Best Studio patch on as an afterthought and it's perfect.

And of course I have been knitting tiny teapots:

And working on a little girl sweater (who isn't quite so little anymore) while playing wildcraft.

What a strange position of flux I have been in the past few years. . .as my children grow to adulthood, (one leaving home), navigating a pandemic and the changed landscape of life on the other side, on and on. Life is change, constant. I wonder do folks feel it quite as much as mothers do?

After not posting here for over a year, starting and then abandoning a different blog, and waffling with Instagram as it slowly fades into a rather dysfunctional shadow of it's former self, here I am again. You may notice the majority of the backlog of this blog is missing. . . it is how I am moving forward for now while preserving my kids' autonomy.

  1. Wonderful to "see" you again. I completely understand your need to keep things more private. I am always happy to hear about whatever you feel comfortable sharing.
These last few years have turned my world upside down and as my older children navigate this new world I still feel pulled to stay close to home with my younger 2.
I love hearing about your crafting projects and daily tasks.
As always spring beckons and I cannot wait to be outside in the sunshine again!
